THIS WAS ME at the dentist- with no make-up on- like by bib?!?
I went to the dentist for a check up...
I hadn't been to the dentist in wayyyyy too long!
Good thing I brush and floss!
I even instagrammed a picture of my view at the dentist while I waited.
*My kneecaps look really weird here, they normally don't look so "sticky-outtie"....
I guess dentist chairs are not at flattering "knee-angles"!
I have been having a not-so-nice-pain on the right side of my jaw.
Turns out my bite is...was off!
Basically my back teeth weren't fitting together properly so one side of my teeth were getting all the pressure and pain, lots of pain, for a while now.
Doc, (dentist doc), said we can fix it with an Occlusal (bite) Adjustment-
what the occlusal?!?!
They just have you bite on this paper, and sand off a thin part where the teeth are hitting- until the pressure were your teeth come together is evenly distributed.
I asked,q1 jokingly after he had been "grinding" and adjusting my teeth for over an hour, "if I had any teeth left" ha ha ha....HE told me I wouldn't even notice, and I don't, my teeth feel the same, just not painful when I bite now!
My tooth look straight, but the back teeth didn't match up at all, and when I'd bite down they would slide to the side to try to fit together! Owzie!
My teeth were like an phony old, western town, that looks like buildings in the front, and then in the back it's a mess! ha ha ha
AND THE REASON TEETH CAN GET ALL WONKY LIKE THIS?!?!
HE asked if I chewed gum!
oh no, GUILTY!!!
He asked if I did it when I was a teenager?
OH YES AGAIN!!!!
I used to chew gum ALL day long!! I mean I'd have a pack of gum in my backpack, car, bedroom- if you saw me chances are I was chewing gum.
Some people smoked.....I was a chain-gum-chewer!
From about 15-18, I always, always was chewing gum- hey I just wanted minty-fresh breath!
Turns out all that gum chewing is not so great for your jaw, and can mess up the pressure on your teeth and your bite!
*Did you know that your bite (teeth pressing together) can be as much as 200 pounds per square inch or raw, mashing pressure! That's like an adult man, sitting on my teeth!
Long tooth-story, short....
My back teeth aren't ground to nubs, they fit together so nicely, all my other teeth are still attached to my gums, and I dont' have the crazy pain and sensitivity that I had on that one side! hoooooootie-tootie ray!!!
Happy teeth, your kandee
